Simple Abstract Scenes

Although it might not look like a typical Bryce scene, "Burst" was created entirely in Bryce2, with no "post-rendering". The scene consists of three spheres, each with a slightly different semi-transparent texture. The camera is positioned within the outer two spheres (they are very large, about 600 "Bryce-units" each direction), which have the yellow-orange texture. The trick is, to zoom out the camera perspective as far as possible. That way, you wil automatically get a very pronounced perspective, in which all colors and forms seem to "fly" out of the center. You can see this effect even in the wireframe-mode (below):

So, its pretty easy. It is only important to rember that the camera has to be positioned within at least on of the spheres (you might use cubes, as well), and that the materials are partial transparent. If you use "solid" textures, you need to add a light-source placed within the sheres. You can experment with diffrent textures (by the way, I used a tweaked version of the "wild mirror" from the "Complex FX" presets) or add other components. For example, the image "Aspen" has the same basic settings as "Burst"; I placed just a structured glass in front of the camera.

For abstract scenes with Bryce4, you will find a good tutorial at Billy Scotts (Lazziter) site
